Lesson 1: Introduction

Do you remember during the training when I asked you to write down an answer to the following question?

“What does the phrase “the cross of Christ” mean to you?”

This exercise is meant to prove that you already know what to say when the Lord provides an opportunity to proclaim the gospel to others.

You have listened to enough sermons, attended enough Bible studies, read the Bible enough times to know the essential message of the gospel. The words you wrote down could be used to proclaim the gospel.

And this is really important!

They are your words to proclaim the gospel. They came from your heart and your mind. I didn’t give you a script to memorize during the Praise and Proclaim training because sincerity is that important in today’s world. People want to know your reasons for the hope that you have in Christ. And when you use your words to proclaim the gospel, the message flows easier.
