As a child grabs a mother’s face, God lovingly grabs our attention

As a child grabs her mom’s face and turns it toward herself to get her mom’s attention, sometimes God grabs our face through people, circumstances, or events and turns it towards Him – to focus on what He is trying to tell us.

Oh, we can shake off the gesture or look everywhere but to God, but if we are conscious of His presence and who He is, we are drawn to what He wants us to see, wants us to hear, wants us to be aware of – and we listen to Him.

That’s where I want to be – a place where I am aware of His constant presence, to give God my attention, and listen to what He has to say to me.

“He is our God. We are the sheep belonging to His flock. We are the people He takes good care of.  If only you would listen to His voice today.” (Psalm 95:7)

“Oh, God!  I want to hear Your voice today. I want to see what You want me to see and do what You want me to do. Help me set aside my stubborn will and freely allow Your will to flow through me. What is Your will for me today? I am here. I am listening. Amen.”

Through God’s Word we hear His voice. We are reminded of His promises. We see what God wants us to see and gives us the power to do what He desires for us to do. And sometimes in difficult events, God opens doors to reveal His will. In Christ, we are faithful and walk down the path that He has set before us.

This video gives us a stark reminder of how God’s hand works in preserving His Word – and illuminates His ways.
