Extend invitations with a sense of urgency
In the parable of the great banquet, the doors were about to close and the room was not full. With a sense of urgency, the master sent out His servants to extend invitations to everybody they meet — even those least likely to accept.
“Lord, grant me with a sense of urgency. In these last days, the doors of opportunity are about to close forever. In the country lanes where I work and live, grant me a spirit of urgency and boldness to extend an invitation to hear Your Word. Amen.”
“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go our to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.” (Luke 14:23)

Most of us have no idea what it’s like to be threatened for our faith in Christ. Our fears today pale in comparison to receiving death threats for sharing our faith. Yet, timidity is a reality that we need to confess and confront.
“Lord, I confess that I struggle with fear in sharing God’s Word with others. Only You can grant me courage and the desire to speak Your Word of light. When the doors of opportunity open up before me, give me the boldness to walk through them. Thank you, Lord. Amen.”
“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” (Acts 4:29)

Through prayer, we can ask the Lord to open doors of opportunity to share His Word. We can also ask the Lord to open our eyes and ears when those opportunities do come.
“Oh Lord, grant me a discerning heart. Forgive me when I have not perceived the open doors you provided for me. I trust you, Lord. I believe you can and will use me to share the mystery of Christ with your dear souls lost in unbelief. Thank you for the freedom I take for granted to be your messenger in today’s world. Amen.”
“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” (Colossians 4:3)

A redeemed soul root in Christ is gospel intentional in everything they do and say. They have a spiritual willingness to place opportunities to share God’s Word ahead of their desire for convenience and comfort.
“Lord, take me out of my comfort zone. Use me, Lord, to be a part of your purpose in bringing lost sheep to the light of Your Word. I give up my selfish pursuits and desires, so that another soul can receive eternal life in heaven. Amen.”
“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22

The Lord made a solemn observation that even though the need is great to share God’s Word, the workers are few. When the lost soul is a beloved family member, the sense of urgency dramatically heightens. The dynamic of family relationships makes sharing God’s Word especially difficult. Prompted by love and concern, family members of a lost soul pray for a Christian to enter their lives.
“Lord, may I be that person a family member is praying for right now to share God’s Word with a loved one. Amen.”
“Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:38)

A stubborn heart will not bend its ear to hear His Word.
“Lord, do whatever is necessary to provide a captive audience to hear Your Word. Eternity is at stake! I express my willingness to be Your vessel. Use me as a sower to plant the seeds of the gospel so that more ears can hear and more eyes can open. I understand that sowing takes patience, persistence, and love. I trust Your timing and Your promise that Your Word works. Amen.”
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

The problem with living in spiritual darkness is that a lost soul does not know their predicament. Only by the light of faith can a soul see they were in spiritual captivity.
“Oh, Lord, only by the power of Your Word can a soul escape the clutches of spiritual darkness. Encourage me today to never give up sharing the knowledge of truth with all people you place in my life. Open my eyes to the spiritual condition of lost souls. Amen.”
“Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their sense and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:25-26)

“Lord, I trust the power of your Word to turn on the light of faith. I confess that I wrestle with doubt or the impossibilities of [insert name] ever coming to faith. Forgive me, Lord. I specifically ask that You open the eyes of their hearts. Remove the lies from the god of this age so that they may see your glory. Amen.”
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Cor. 4:4)
